INSTALLATION AND SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Candidates with practical experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting access control, electric hardware, fire alarm systems. Knowledge of low‑voltage systems, wiring, control panels, and safety protocols is essential.
A security and fire alarm installation technician must have a blend of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and interpersonal skills to excel in the role. These skills are essential:
Technical Skills- Knowledge of low‑voltage systems, wiring, control panels, and safety protocols is essential.
- Electrical and wiring knowledge:
Ability to read blueprints and install wiring for alarm systems. - System installation and programming:
Familiarity with systems including Siemens, Honeywell, and Bosch. - Technology: IP and Network, computer‑based knowledge.
- Testing and troubleshooting:
Skill in diagnosing and repairing faults in circuits, sensors, and control panels. - Knowledge of NFPA 72:
Understanding the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code for compliant installations. - Use of tools and equipment:
Proficiency with ladders, lifts, hand tools, power tools and diagnostic devices.
- Fire protection standards:
Awareness of fire safety codes and practices. - NICET certification:
Ability to acquire and maintain Fire Alarm Systems certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies. - Local building codes:
Understanding regional regulations and compliance requirements.
- Customer service:
Communication skills, professionalism with clients and contractors. Represent the company well in the field. - Ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail:
Precision in installation and documentation to ensure system reliability. - Problem‑solving:
Critical thinking to resolve installation or operational issues. - Clean driving record.
Staying current with technology:
Keeping up with evolving products and smart home integrations.
Adaptability:
Flexibility to work in varied environments, from residential homes to commercial buildings.
Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Approved overtime available.
