- Brown Nationa Lease is now hiring for a Second Shift Diesel Technician to join our team in Davenport, IA!
- Second Shift Diesel Technician Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related systems on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and inspections.
- Inspect, test, and repair brake systems, suspension components, steering systems, and driveline components.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel systems.
- Utilize diagnostic software and equipment to identify mechanical and electronic issues.
- Complete work orders accurately and document repairs, parts used, and labor performed.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure vehicles meet company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Respond to road calls or emergency breakdowns as needed.
- Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status with supervisors and fleet personnel.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with maintaining shop tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
- Experience as a diesel technician, mechanic, or heavy equipment technician preferred.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, emissions systems, electrical diagnostics, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair procedures.
- Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and working in various positions.
- Ability to work in a shop environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery, tools, and moving vehicles.
