Industrial Electrical Technician - Crane Repair

Arconic is seeking an Electrical Technician to join our team in Davenport, IA. Our mission is to be a leading provider of lightweight materials for aerospace, automotive, and other markets.

• Support and maintain a safe work environment through active participation in safety processes and EHS policies.
• Provide technical and tactical support for planned and unplanned equipment breakdowns and outages on production centers, including Direct Fire melt furnaces, Allen Bradley PLCs, RS Logics, and AC/DC drives; assist in tuning, commissioning, and troubleshooting new and revised equipment.
• Train and mentor Unit Supervisors and craftspeople to continuously improve technical skills.
• Support the Lead Operator process and promote up‑skilling of craft personnel through training plans.
• Lead development of SOPs, WIPs, and related procedures for new and existing equipment and provide training on those procedures.
• Provide technical input to preventative and predictive maintenance systems.
• Recommend and implement changes to control systems or equipment to improve long‑term reliability.
• Lead problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis efforts, documenting and retaining records of technical issues.
• Assist in critical spare‑parts management.
• Apply Arconic Business Systems concepts and Stability Tools to integrate critical maintenance processes into daily operations.
• Work flexible hours as required by business need, generally Monday‑Friday 7 am‑4 pm, with off‑shift support as needed.

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Pass a recognized electrical proficiency exam.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification required at hire.

• Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship, four‑year on‑the‑job training program, or an electrical degree from an accredited technical college.
• Broad electrical experience, with preference for knowledge of industrial cranes, medium‑ and high‑voltage systems, and network systems.
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings, diagnose root causes, and implement repairs to restore equipment flow.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting of AC and DC motors, and variable speed drives.
• Experience with combustion systems or commercial/industrial boilers.
• Knowledge of process control and instrumentation principles.
