Lead Plant Maintenance Technician

Lead Plant Maintenance Technician (LPMT) is committed to safely doing everything we do better than anyone else. Acting as both a hands‑on technician and a team leader, the LPMT serves as the standard bearer for Manatt’s values, mission, purpose, and vision. This role is responsible for overseeing plant maintenance activities, mentoring Plant Maintenance Technicians, and coordinating with plant managers to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of producing plants.

The LPMT also takes a lead role in plant construction, disassembly/rebuilding projects, and scheduling daily/weekly maintenance tasks.

• Lead daily maintenance operations by assigning work, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Coordinate with the Plant Maintenance Manager on scheduling preventive maintenance, repairs, and project work.
• Oversee inspections, servicing, and maintenance of assigned equipment to meet company efficiency, safety, cleanliness, and excellence standards.
• Ensure compliance of service trucks, cranes, and assigned vehicles with state and federal regulations, including inspections, certifications, and documentation.
• Provide technical expertise in diagnosing issues and performing advanced repairs, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Communicate proactively with plant managers to minimize unplanned outages and maximize plant uptime.
• Lead and participate in maintenance activities such as lubrication, adjustments, replacements (belts, bearings, pulleys, etc.), and fabrication.
• Operate and train others on loaders, ready‑mix trucks, and other maintenance equipment as needed.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards by operating vehicles in a safe manner and abiding by all State and Federal Department of Transportation traffic laws, rules and regulations.
• Observe and resolve obvious OSHA, EPA or MSHA violations or potential problems and report them to plant manager.
• Perform electrical and plumbing replacement, lubrication of moving parts, adjustment and/or replacement of belts, replacement of bearing, roller, pulley, and auger, servicing gear boxes and lines, repair/cleaning of dust collection devices, etc.

• Serve as a mentor and trainer for Plant Maintenance Technicians, sharing knowledge and promoting professional growth.
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to plant staff and technicians.
• Collaborate with management to set team goals and monitor performance aligned with Manatt’s core values.
• Encourage adaptability and openness to evolving technology within plant operations.
• Represent Manatt positively at jobsites and with customers, reinforcing the company’s reputation for excellence.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Three to five years maintenance/fabrication related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
