Guitar Technician

Guitar Center is seeking a Guitar Technician to join our Skilled Labor team in our retail environment. In this role, you'll perform setups, repairs, and maintenance on guitars and basses, ensuring optimal playability and tone. You'll diagnose issues, complete electronic and hardware repairs, and prepare instruments for sale and customer pickup. You'll leverage your product knowledge and passion for gear to educate customers, support sales teams, and maintain a safe, organized bench.

Responsibilities

• Perform guitar setups, restringing, intonation, truss rod and action adjustments
• Diagnose and repair electronic, hardware, and structural issues on guitars and basses
• Inspect trade-ins and new inventory for playability and quality standards
• Advise customers on gear, maintenance, and repair options to match their needs
• Maintain organized, safe, and well-documented bench and repair workflow
• Collaborate with sales staff to support special orders and custom work
• Estimate repair costs and timelines and communicate clearly with customers
• Stay current on brands, models, and emerging guitar technology
