Shift: Varies (Monday through Friday 2pm‑6pm, Every 4th Saturday 2pm‑7pm)

Responsible for the delivery of laboratory specimens, mail and supplies between affiliated Mercy One facilities and laboratory customers.

• Transport laboratory specimens, mail, and other materials and supplies using excellent customer‑service skills.
• Adhere to established procedures and policies, including infection control and blood‑borne pathogens protocols.
• Handle chemicals in accordance with safety protocols.
• Meet defined workload productivity standards.
• Support and utilize LEAN principles.
• Use courier logistical software and devices to track packages and document routes.
• Ensure temperature‑dependent materials are transported at their required storage temperature.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and courier bags.
• Attend and participate in department huddles.
• Accurately track packages and obtain optimal transport time.
• Teach peers.

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Two years of experience as a courier (preferred).
• Working knowledge of materials management (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license that meets Mercy One’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
• At least 18 years of age and eligible to drive under Iowa state law.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter Abuse Training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
