PANEL TECHNICIAN
Location:
Daventry
This role involves accurately and skillfully carrying out panel repair and replacement on vehicles to customer satisfaction while detecting and diagnosing additional faults for further repair.
Responsibilities- Carry out repair operations to prescribed methods and standards.
- Work to times and standards as dictated by Thatcham, insurance company guidelines, manufacturer standards, and company policy.
- When welding, perform a test weld and retain results until repairs are complete.
- Repaint repaired areas using body filler finished with 180‑grade production paper.
- Maintain an accurate and comprehensive list of additional parts required and communicate findings to relevant departments.
- Practice good housekeeping: panels removed are not left in hazardous positions; general waste is disposed of in provided receptacles.
- Ensure the vehicle is protected from further damage, including masking openings and using protective covers during all stages of repair.
- Store reusable parts in designated boxes or wheeled cages to prevent damage; small parts may be stored in the vehicle in suitable receptacles.
- Report damaged parts to the Estimator and Production Manager immediately.
- Check all PPE daily; sign a fit‑for‑use log weekly.
- Familiarise yourself with Health & Safety and COSHH requirements related to your role.
- Carry out repairs to BS 10125 standards.
- Secure lids on paint and thinner containers when not in use and prevent parts from being stored on the roof or bonnet.
- IMI/ATA qualified Panel Technician with strong bodyshop experience.
- Strong work ethic providing the best quality service.
- Team‑player capable of working in a fast‑paced environment and multitasking.

- Full UK driving licence.
