Position

Category Manager – Fabricated Tubing (Procurement)

Location

Davidson, North Carolina, USA

Work Schedule

Monday to Thursday onsite with colleagues. Fridays allow flexible work location based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality, and other business partners) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality.
  • Partner with business unit procurement teams to transition suppliers efficiently and support region/sector New Product Development (NPD) procurement teams through preferred supplier programs.
  • Develop and execute detailed category strategy, expanding the Preferred Supplier Program and segmentation based on business needs and effective procurement principles.
  • Manage contract lifecycle and compliance, ensuring supply continuity and delivering best total value through RFx activities for supplier selection and negotiation.
  • Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk, including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance risk.
  • Deliver category productivity through price, value analysis (VA), or continuous improvement projects.
  • Oversee Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and conduct regular supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers to meet program Quality/Cost/Delivery targets.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience with large‑scale, complex, and/or regional or global categories of spend.
  • Demonstrated success in assessing, negotiating, and managing vendors.
  • Strong collaboration, facilitation, consultation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to serve as a trusted business partner and influence stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Annual Base Salary: $97,406.66 – $
