Overview

The Contract Manager, North America will support business growth by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial and federal government contracts while protecting Ingersoll Rand from legal, financial, operational, and compliance risk. This role will partner closely with Sales, Customer Care, Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders to deliver practical, timely guidance, strengthen contract governance, and improve the end-to-end contracting process.

The successful candidate will combine sound judgment, customer focus, attention to detail, and an ownership mindset. The role will also serve as a key resource for U.S. federal contracting matters, including interpretation of applicable Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency supplement requirements, management of required clauses and flow-downs, and support for audit-ready contract administration.

Responsibilities
  • Review, draft, revise, and negotiate a broad range of customer-facing agreements, including sales contracts, master agreements, purchase orders, non-disclosure agreements, amendments, and other commercial documents, with a focus on enabling growth while appropriately managing risk.
  • Lead contract review for U.S. federal, state, and municipal government customers, evaluating solicitations, representations and certifications, contract terms, and applicable FAR, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other agency-specific requirements.
  • Identify, interpret, and coordinate required government contract clauses and subcontract flow-downs, partnering with Legal, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Finance, Supply Chain, Trade Compliance, Quality, and Operations to confirm obligations are understood and executable.
  • Advise business partners on federal contracting risks and requirements, including compliance, records, audits, government property, intellectual property and data rights, cybersecurity, domestic sourcing, pricing, changes, claims, disputes, and closeout, as applicable to the contract.
  • Partner directly with customers and internal stakeholders to negotiate legal terms, resolve contract issues, communicate status, and drive timely decisions and approvals in accordance with company policy and delegated authority.
  • Maintain and continuously improve standard contract templates, playbooks, clause libraries, policies, approval workflows, and contract management materials, with clear standards for both commercial and government contracting.
  • Develop and deliver practical training for Sales and other customer-facing teams on contract review requirements, risk identification, escalation protocols, federal contract obligations, and compliant contract administration.
  • Use data, operating rhythms, and continuous improvement methods to strengthen cycle time, visibility, consistency, recordkeeping, and audit readiness across the contract lifecycle, while supporting disputes, investigations, and corrective actions when needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience, with 3 or more years of experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, government contracts, or related legal terms and conditions.
