Position: New Student Programs Office Coordinator (BLANK AST 3)



Job Summary
Under the primary supervision of the Associate Director, First Year Experience, the FYE Office Coordinator is a key member of the 5-person staff and broader New Student Programs (NSP) team. The FYE program includes Peer Mentoring, academic advising and career readiness programs, faculty programs, Living-Learning Communities and First Year Aggie Connections. This role oversees the administrative processes involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of the campus-wide FYE program that fosters the successful academic and personal transition of over 9,500 incoming, undergraduate first-year and transfer students and their supporters annually.

Responsibilities include:

working with sensitive student information, complex policies, procedures and registration systems including FYAC registration; provide analytical and administrative support for the FYE program including fiscal transactions, project and resource planning, reports; working collaboratively in a team environment; oversight of the residential academic centers; managing multiple complex calendars and meetings, including agendas & minutes, and scheduling student staff; developing, evaluating and providing primary customer service for students;

developing and providing central communication and resource point for students, staff and visitors; assisting in day-to-day operations of the FYE program; maintaining key/access control and occupancy data; supporting ancillary activities (e.g., Yield). This position may recruit, hire, supervise and train one FYE student assistant; delegates and directs workload for 50+ student managers and peer mentors; creating an environment focused on inclusion and academic success.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a customer service driven business office environment, serving diverse audiences, to interpret, analyze and communicate in person, via email, over telephone and virtual platforms, information, policies and guidelines; experience being adaptable, learning quickly and independently; utilize MS Office, accounting and graphic presentation software, word processing, Qualtrics and Box platforms.
