Overview
Under the general supervision of The Arts CAO and Operations Manager, collaborate to develop and implement an event management plan centered on key events in the Arts (Departments of Art History, Art Studio, Cinema & Digital Media, Design, Music and Theatre & Dance) and strategic communications. Plan and manage programs that engage alumni, students, staff, faculty, donors and other key stakeholders.
Provide oversight and management to communications and marketing support staff, including student assistants, to ensure effective outreach and program execution. Develop and manage an event calendar and budgets for the Arts in collaboration with leadership and reconciliation of event, travel and entertainment expenses. Support faculty, staff and students through the event development and execution process.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Strong event management and leadership experience to develop creative approaches and establishing strategic communication goals and priorities in the management of programs and special events.
- Knowledge of the university environment and ability to collaborate effectively across Arts departments and campus units.
- Demonstrated ability to implement changes in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, artists, vendors, and community partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for varied audiences, including event briefings, correspondence, and promotional materials for Arts programs.
- Awareness, knowledge, and skill in applying inclusion to one’s work. A profound belief in the value of a safe workforce and a commitment to achieve this goal through collaboration and team building, working cooperatively with a large group of department and campus constituencies.

The Arts Departments work in collaboration with college leadership and campus partners to support fundraising, donor relations, and external engagement efforts that align with the Arts creative and academic mission. The Arts plays a key role in cultivating relationships with alumni, donors, and community partners through events, programs, and strategic communications. These efforts help generate support for the Arts while enhancing visibility and engagement across UC Davis.
