Position: Redwood SEED Director of Operations (PUBL EDUC MGR 1)

Job Summary

The UC Davis Redwood SEED (Supported Education to Elevate Diversity) Scholars Program is a four-year residential, inclusive college program for students with intellectual disabilities. The program leads program that leads to a validated skill credentials for the scholars to support their future employment. It includes (1) access to program-specific and university-wide classes, (2) inclusive residential options, (3) inclusive on-campus student experiences and supports, (4) internship and competitive integrated employment opportunities.

Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications
- For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • At least 3 years experience developing and implementing inclusive college programs with a residential component
  • At least five years experience with project management
  • Knowledge and experience of best practices in the design and implementation of programming for adult students with intellectual disabilities
  • Effective leadership skills, including supervising and developing staff. Ability to motivate others
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate in a pleasant, tactful and effective manner (both orally and in writing), and to handle difficult, sensitive and/or confidential issues with diverse groups of individuals
  • Knowledge of UC Davis and UC Davis Health policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience involving student conduct and discipline review within a program or environment serving individuals with intellectual disability
  • Experience in strategic planning
  • Experience with direct education and support for young adults with intellectual disabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in support of program delivery and operations. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to carry-out assignments in an efficient and timely manner

Department Overview

UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) is the lifelong learning arm of the university. The division maintains the most diverse portfolio on the campus, with programs spanning pre-college, professional continuing education, workforce development, international academic and cultural exchange, and training services for corporate and agency partners. As a global leader in continuing education, CPE serves learners regionally, nationally and globally, and posts more than 55K enrollments annually making it the third largest UC Extension by enrollment.

Beyond its community-facing role, CPE serves as the internal hub for online education in support of other academic units on the campus. CPE employs approximately 180 employees and draws on the expertise of approximately 1,700 instructors.
