Job SummaryIn coordination with the Executive Director of the One Health Institute (OHI), CAO, Financial Operations Manager, and Leadership Team, provides analytical support for budgeting and finance activities to facilitate the delivery of effective response, research, development, and capacity building programs and to conduct transdisciplinary and multinational collaborative projects. Provides financial, project, partnership development, and administrative management to assigned programs and projects.
Positively represents the OHI while liaising with School of Veterinary Medicine and Campus administrative professionals, faculty and staff. Using the university accounting and other administrative systems, process complex business and service contracts, research and resolve system errors, maintain general ledger and PPM cost reports to ensure accuracy, and perform corrective payroll and non-payroll transactions, as needed. Develops financial tools for budget management and oversight, correspond with government agencies and international stakeholders, and provides fiscal oversight and guidance for our collaborating partners, both foreign and domestic.
Creates and reconciles budgets and ledgers while ensuring compliance with applicable university, client, state and federal policies and laws. Provides policy and procedural guidance in payroll/personnel, accounting, procurement, travel and programmatic administration. Interprets, administers, and complies with all applicable University, Federal and State policies. Processes complex business contracts and liaises with appropriate campus units to submit new funding proposals, as well as establishing and managing new and existing awards.
Liaises with campus units and external organizations in all areas of responsibility.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- At least 2 years' experience in accounting and financial management, including general accounting principles and accounting databases, analyzing options and problem solving while utilizing available resources, and specific expertise using spreadsheet and database software for financial analysis.
- Experience with UC Davis sponsored research, payroll, accounting, business contracts, material management, equipment inventory, and internal control; ability to interpret and implement established policies and procedures and use word processing, calendar and email software and programs to complete and manage tasks.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills to interact tactfully with diplomacy and sensitivity with a diverse group of people both in person, by email, and over the telephone. Must be flexible and have the ability to communicate effectively with team members and work cooperatively with others as well as participate, contribute ideas, set goals, tolerate confusion, and support and implement decisions affecting the group.
- Ability to independently coordinate a variety of tasks and functions; work around frequent interruptions; organize own workload and set changing priorities. Anticipate and provide for schedule changes; work under pressure and deadlines; ability and skill to maintain composure under heavy workloads and conflicting priorities or demands sufficient for effective performance.
