Job Summary
This position will develop, implement, and assist with evaluating strategies that strengthen bidirectional engagement and partnership between communities and the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC). A primary focus of the role is to foster meaningful collaboration by ensuring that community priorities, perspectives, and expertise inform UCDCCC research, clinical trials, outreach, and programmatic activities, while also increasing community access to and participation in cancer-related research and services.
Job SummaryThis position will develop, implement, and assist with evaluating strategies that strengthen bidirectional engagement and partnership between communities and the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC). A primary focus of the role is to foster meaningful collaboration by ensuring that community priorities, perspectives, and expertise inform UCDCCC research, clinical trials, outreach, and programmatic activities, while also increasing community access to and participation in cancer-related research and services.
Key responsibilities include facilitating partnerships between community members, organizations, researchers, and clinical investigators to support the co‑development of research and engagement activities; enhancing recruitment and diversity in clinical trials and studies; building the capacity of both community partners and researchers to engage effectively with one another; identifying and communicating community needs, concerns, and opportunities across UCDCCC; and supporting the translation of research findings back to communities in accessible and meaningful ways.
The position will also assist with program evaluation and analysis, including the collection, monitoring, and reporting of outcome metrics related to community outreach, engagement, education, and partnership development. #CA-SB

- Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with two (2) or more years of relevant experience and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Community outreach and engagement experience.
- Project and research coordination and/or management experience.
- Experience in community engagement and education with a wide range of constituents.
- Experience facilitating education and training around bidirectionality.
- IRB preparation, submission, and maintenance.
- Demonstrated intercultural competency skills and experience working cross-culturally.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills to review information, draw conclusions, develop, and evaluate alternatives/solutions.
- Ability to interpret and disseminate policy.
- Demonstrated ability to network and build strong relationships with community members and organizations.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to motivate, collaborate and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships and partnerships both internally and externally.
- Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to conduct program assessments, identify needs, requirements, and develop process improvement recommendations for the successful implementation of plans/strategies to improve bidirectionality and community engaged research.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of inference, and as part of a collaborative team.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to create PowerPoint presentations.
- Proficiency in Canva.
- Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience and knowledge of clinical trials, including recruiting diverse community members.
- Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills necessary to collect data, analyze it, and develop substantive reports.
