Hospital Driver

Job Summary:
Drives truck to transport materials to and from hospitals by performing the following duties.

• Weigh and deliver clean linen to our customers, pick up soil linen and return it to the plant.
• Assisting shipping clerk by weighing linen carts until the hospital load is ready.
• Loading truck and checking billing for proper number of carts.
• Delivering linen to customers according to posted schedule.
• Removing soil carts from hospitals and returning them to the plant.
• Keep truck clean and neat, both cab and box.
• Comply with all laws by following all pertinent DOT regulations.

High school diploma or general education degree ( GED ); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience .

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions , and procedure manuals . Ability to write routine reports and correspondence . Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization . ,

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions , proportions , percentages, area, circumference, and volume . Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry .

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written , oral, or diagram form . Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations .

Possession of valid chauffeur’s license .

While performing the duties of this job , the employee is frequently required to sit . The employee is occasionally required to stand ; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel ; each with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel , crouch , or crawl; and talk or hear . The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds .

Pulling carts that weight up to 700 lbs . Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision , peripheral vision , and depth perception .
