Job Summary
Under supervision of the AGRICULTURE MGR 1, perform unskilled and skilled agricultural tasks in and around research plots in fields, including irrigating, weeding, and harvesting at CA&ES Core Farm Facilities (300+ acres) as well as 500+ acres of labor recharge locations and other College field facilities as assigned. THIS IS A PARTIAL-YEAR CAREER POSITION. This position is subject to furlough and curtailment periods where the employee is not at work and without pay;
furlough would not exceed three (3) months.

Qualifications- Forklift certificate must be obtained with 6 months of hire.
- Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
- High School diploma or equivalent certification/experience/training.
- Experience performing general agricultural work.
- Knowledge of and experience with determining correct irrigation frequency and duration.
- Experience driving light vehicles, operate tractors, and operate hand tools.
- Knowledge to diagnose plant disease and identify weeds.
- Skills to follow oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of the plot layout at CA&ES Core Farm Facilities.

The CCFF is a core facility managed within the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences (CA&ES). CCFF provides all farm management and maintenance of over 800 acres of agronomic, vegetable and forage crops, supporting more than 415 teaching and research projects annually.
Position Information- Salary or Pay Range: $21.05/hr – $25.03/hr.
