Lab Assistant - Part Time

We are seeking a part‑time Laboratory Assistant to join our team. The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for general lab maintenance in our molecular biology lab and controlled plant growth facility, including cleaning and sanitizing laboratory glassware, dishes, and general plant care to ensure safe and efficient laboratory operations. This is a part‑time position. The Laboratory Assistant generally will need to be available 10-20 hours per week.

• Plant care in growth chamber (watering, planting, soil preparation, plant trimming)
• Seed extraction and processing of multiple plant species (soy, corn, tomato, etc.)
• Cleaning of glassware and lab materials
• General lab maintenance such as waste disposal
• Collection of tissue samples
• Basic plant measurements and imaging
• Assistance with general greenhouse maintenance (sweeping, cleaning, pressure washing)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Strong reading comprehension and ability to interpret written instructions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Basic computer skills
• Punctuality

• The US base salary range for this position is $16.90 - $20 per hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
