Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Quality Inspector to work at a leading designer and manufacturer of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) in Davis, CA
. The position is onsite and requires commuting to Davis, CA.
Hours:
Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm. Pay: $26–30/hr contract length: 6 months.
- Report to the Quality Systems Manager and perform in‑process inspection audits on machined and welded production and engineering materials.
- Ensure documentation, including material certificates and vendor inspection reports, is accurate and complete.
- Conduct audits on the shop floor and provide feedback to manufacturing personnel, product engineering, and purchasing regarding quality inspection of manufactured parts.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical quality inspection or a related trade (machining or welding).
- Knowledge and practical application of precision measuring equipment and inspection tools, including CMM, optical comparator, smart scopes, and Romer arm.
- Good communication skills and the ability to clearly convey results of quality control activities, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with metrology mechanical hand tools and geometrical dimensioning and tolerance.
