Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Continuing Improvement and Accreditation, the Accreditation Analyst serves as the School of Nursing’s subject matter expert for accreditation strategy, compliance, and institutional readiness across graduate and professional programs. With a high degree of autonomy and in partnership with the Director as appropriate, the incumbent conducts highly complex analysis of accreditation, regulatory, academic, and operational requirements; develops and recommends school-level policies, processes, and frameworks;

provides consultative services to leadership and program administrators; and leads implementation of new or revised compliance‑related systems and processes to maintain continuous compliance and mitigate risk. The role coordinates complex accreditation submissions and site visits; develops and maintains evidence‑management systems, documentation processes, and compliance monitoring tools; and provides guidance and informal leadership to School of Nursing staff engaged in accreditation‑related work.

The position supports accreditation and regulatory processes for multiple bodies, including Board of Registered Nursing, CCNE, ARC‑PA, COA, WASC, and UC Davis Graduate Council, and confers with UC Davis accreditation specialists as needed to align best practices and institutional responses. #CA-DS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Experience to manage databases using software programs including as Microsoft Word and its advanced features, Excel, Internet Browser and Acrobat.
  • Experience with complex policy, program, or accreditation analysis, interpreting regulatory standards, leading cross‑functional initiatives, developing processes and implementation frameworks, and preparing leadership‑level analyses, summaries, or recommendations.
  • Advanced knowledge of accreditation standards, policies, and regulatory requirements applicable to health professions education programs; ability to interpret evolving requirements and determine compliant approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex accreditation processes and projects with a high degree of autonomy, including planning, documentation management, stakeholder coordination, and deadline‑driven deliverables.
  • Ability to use data, analytics, and evidence to identify compliance gaps, analyze root causes, and implement sustainable process improvements that reduce institutional risk.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including drafting and editing accreditation narratives, preparing leadership briefs, and communicating requirements to diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills; ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple concurrent accreditation cycles and activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with appropriate discretion and judgment; commitment to safeguarding confidential records and data.
  • Ability to function well and with a great deal of flexibility in a fast‑pace working environment; strong initiative and work cooperatively in a team environment. Other duties as assigned, as the program grows and develops.
  • Ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks and use good judgment in providing services based on goals in a fast paced working environment.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and creatively solve problems using available resources to meet deadlines to manage assigned work with minimal supervision.
  • Accreditation compliance tracking knowledge and understanding of accreditation processes for CCNE, ARC‑PA, COA, and other accreditation bodies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Master’s degree in related area preferred
  • Experience with nursing and health profession accreditation entities such as COA, ARC‑PA, CCNE, and BRN.
  • Knowledge and commitment to UC Principals of Community and procedures, specifically related to recruitment & retention of faculty from traditionally under‑represented groups.
