Job description

You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:

Breeding and Research Support

* Sowing, sampling, transplanting, evaluation and harvesting of multiple crops in fields and greenhouses

* Seed processing including extraction, washing, disinfection, treatment, and packaging of harvested seed

* Work alongside contract laborers conducting routine operational and breeding activities

* Conduct cross-training for workers involved in key breeding activities

* Occasional inventory and shipment preparation

Greenhouse Operation Support

* Greenhouse preparation prior to the start of a new cycle.

* Preparing planting media in appropriate containers, sowing, thinning, and transplanting of seeds/seedlings

* Hand watering of seedlings and transplants

* Greenhouse cleanup and disposal of plants, containers, media, etc. after project completion

* General operational support for breeding, plant pathology, and cell biology projects and programs

* This applies more to Seasonal Operations Aide for Greenhouse,

* Be prepared to work in high heat temperatures (≥95˚

F)

Laboratory Support

* Technical support for plant quality analysis, including production and processing of fruit extracts

* Collection and processing of plant tissue samples (seed, leaf, or fruit) for molecular analysis

* Data entry into breeder or research databases and spreadsheets on occasion

* General lab and office operational support activities

Station Operation and Facilities Management Support

* Use and maintain equipment and tools needed for key station activities including sowing, harvesting, seed

extraction, fruit handling and processing and seed packaging

* General operational support for facilities management, including general housekeeping

* Support greenhouse, field, lab, office, and general site activities as needed

* Be prepared to work in high heat outdoor temperatures (≥95˚

F)

What we expect of you

To be considered, you will need:

* High School diploma or equivalent

* 1+ years field/greenhouse operations experience in a research or production setting.
