We are looking to hire a Senior Plant Accountant at Angstrom Fiber Englewood plant in Ohio, USA.

Job Overview

This position is with our Metal division. The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the financial accounting of the Englewood, Ohio Plant and provides financial support to other group location(s). This role is responsible for planning, collecting, and analyzing financial data to determine the cost of business activities and improve operational efficiency. The Senior Accountant analyzes actual manufacturing costs, prepares periodic reports comparing standard and actual production costs, and provides management with detailed financial insights.

These tasks highlight and compare key factors that influence product pricing, cost control, and overall profitability. The position reports to Corporate Finance and administratively to the Plant Manager.

General Purpose of Job

Manage the financial functions of the plant. Supervise Account Clerk/AP. Responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage financial functions including cost and general accounting activities, product costing and capacity planning, and time studies.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial information to Business Unit and Corporate including explanation of differences.
  • Analysis of operating costs and variances.
  • Maintenance and improvements to various accounting systems.
  • Maintenance and development of forecasting models.
  • Timely, accurate preparation of special studies and projects.
  • Supervision of accounting staff.
  • Manage payroll system, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
  • Member of plant Team responsible for planning, budgeting and implementing TQM and Best Methods Program.
  • Maintain audit binders and associated completion & reporting.
  • Annual projects to include but not limited to audit binder, tax package, CAT Tax and assisting with external (or internal) audits.
  • Support activities related to the maintenance of our ISO
    14001 & IATF 16949 quality systems.
Qualifications / Core Competencies Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Accounting/Professional Designation or equivalent (CMA, CPA, MBA, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills, financial analysis, cost, general accounting and manufacturing accounting systems, standard cost accounting and budgeting.
  • Good supervisory, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Plex ERP and MRP systems
  • Computer literate with advanced excel skills
  • High-volume automotive experience considered an asset
