Overview

Crown Holdings is a global leader in metal packaging with operations in 39 countries and approximately 23,000 employees. The Dayton, OH facility produces beverage can ends that support major brands worldwide.

Position:
Quality/Production Technician (Dayton, OH)
Pay: $25.41 per hour (starting) with shift differential

Schedule:

12‑hour rotating shifts

• Maintain and operate automated or manual production machines used in the manufacture of beverage can lids.
• Clear jams, remove damaged ends, and restack pallets to ensure continuous equipment operation.
• Inspect finished ends against customer specifications and record findings.
• Log data in logbooks, inventory sheets, and other required documentation.
• Perform routine housekeeping such as cleaning machines, mopping, and trash removal.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and indicators to perform dimensional checks.
• Communicate results and issues to Team Leader or Team Coordinator.
• Assist with additional duties as directed by team or management.

• 3‑5 years of practical, hands‑on experience in an industrial setting.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to read and follow standard operating procedures.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for one‑on‑one and group settings.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required); language, mathematical, and reasoning abilities desired.
• Must pass a pre‑employment physical exam, drug test, and background check.

Regular standing, walking, and handling of objects.
Frequent climbing or balancing and the ability to talk or hear.
Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Regular lifting of up to 10 lbs, frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision required with the ability to adjust focus.
