Electrical & Instrumentation Technician – Industrial Electrical Technician - Skilled

Job Description Summary

Pursue a rewarding position as a skilled Industrial Electrical Technician with C&W Services, a leader in facility maintenance and janitorial programs. The role involves hands‑on electrical and instrument maintenance for corporate offices, manufacturing plants, and public venues.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a team-oriented, safety-conscious environment, following PJHA, observation, and all company/site safety guidelines.
  • Perform tasks independently without supervision.
  • Use hand tools and power tools on a daily basis.
  • Work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, as required.
  • Work from elevated areas using fall protection equipment.
  • Operate in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, boom lifts, and skid loaders.
  • Adhere to the published work schedule while remaining flexible to workload changes.
  • Maintain compliance with company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Operate industrial powered vehicles (RTFL, forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift).
  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial electrical components and equipment—lighting, motors, inverters, soft starts, and wye‑delta systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics, perform mathematics, and use preventive/predictive technologies.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install raceway (conduit) and cable trays; run wire through raceways and cable trays to be tested by MCA.
  • Follow NECA 101 standards and perform calibration and documentation for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and analytical instrumentation.
  • Diagnose process control loops using key elements and specialized testing equipment.
  • Achieve performance expectations and participate in performance appraisals.
  • Maintain and update personal tool lists.
  • Meet physical job requirements; perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Complete accurate administrative duties: time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers and employees.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a State Journeyman Electrical License and ISA’s CCST Level 1 Certification when required.
  • Five or more years of electrical and controls experience, or four or more years of education in electronics or industrial electricity.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands
  • Observe details at close range.
  • Control precision – quickly and repeatedly adjust machine or vehicle controls.
  • Manual dexterity – grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects quickly.
  • Substantial lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Move continuously for extended periods.
  • Ascend/descend stairs, ladders, step stools.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Operate forklifts or other vehicles safely.
  • Wear respirator when required.
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly.
  • Arrange tasks in order or pattern per rules.
Work Environment

The work environment involves high, precarious places; moving mechanical parts; fumes, chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration. Exposure to extreme heat and cold, wet or humid conditions, and loud noise is common.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $33.58–$39.50 per hour, based on experience, location, and collective bargaining agreements.
