Description
Summary (Main Purpose) The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves working closely with engineers and production teams to ensure the successful production of high-quality products.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Support engineers in analyzing production processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles under the guidance of engineers to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure the manufacturability of new products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic manufacturing issues.
- Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflow.
- Assist in developing and maintaining process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Recommend or assist in designing tools and equipment needed for production based on engineering specifications.
- Perform routine calibration of manufacturing equipment.
- Other tasks as needed by Manager.
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, related field or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of safety and quality standards in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
