Position

Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the facility. This role requires ability to obtain fork truck (forklift) certification and hands‑on experience operating material handling equipment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and capable of working in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate fork trucks and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, finished goods, and supplies
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles
  • Transport materials to production, storage, or shipping areas as required
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against documentation
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or inventory systems
  • Pick, stage, and prepare materials for shipment or production
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance or safety issues
  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities
  • Collaborate with production, shipping, and warehouse teams as needed
Qualifications & Requirements Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds
  • Basic math and documentation skills
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety guidelines
  • Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail
Preferred
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment
  • Experience with inventory management systems or ERP software
  • Additional equipment certifications (pallet jack, reach truck, etc.)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work performed in a warehouse/manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations
  • May require overtime, weekends, or shift coverage based on production needs
