Accounting Manager

Location:

Onsite – Dayton, OH
Salary Range: $120,000–$130,000

The Opportunity

The Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and audit readiness. This leader oversees core accounting functions, safeguards the integrity of financial reporting, and drives continuous improvement across processes and systems. Partnering closely with cross‑functional teams, the Accounting Manager strengthens the organization’s financial infrastructure and transforms complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on accounting leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, improving processes, and building high‑performing teams in a dynamic, onsite environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all core accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Own the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate, timely financial statements and variance analysis
  • Maintain the integrity of financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP, audit standards, and internal policies
  • Prepare audit schedules, support internal and external audits, and continuously strengthen internal controls
  • Translate financial results into clear operational insights and performance drivers for leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Partner cross‑functionally to optimize ERP systems, reporting tools, workflows, and automation
  • Drive process improvements, KPI reporting, and data transparency across the organization
Qualifications
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, reconciliations, and month‑end close processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting or BI tools
  • Experience in multi‑location or utilization‑based environments preferred
