Construction Staff Accountant
The Construction Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring accurate setup, billing, cost tracking, and reporting. This role collaborates with project managers and other team members to provide essential financial data and maintain compliance with company standards.

Job responsibilities include setting up new construction projects in the accounting system, preparing and processing project billings, managing accounts receivable for assigned projects, preparing and processing subcontracts and monitoring contract compliance, processing and tracking owner and subcontractor change orders, preparing monthly adjusting journal entries, assisting with Work-In-Progress reporting, monitoring project budgets and tracking costs, supporting month-end and year-end accounting close processes, serving as liaison between project teams and accounting/finance departments, preparing and submitting regular project financial reports for management, maintaining compliance with internal controls, company policies, and contract requirements, and maintaining a high degree of integrity and confidentiality regarding financial data.
Preferred knowledge, skills, education, and experience include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply), 0–5 years of accounting experience (construction industry experience is a plus), strong attention to detail and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/project management software, ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
The Construction Staff Accountant's physical condition must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the responsibilities defined for this position. This position frequently requires sitting, using hands, and working on a computer for extended periods; occasional standing, walking, or reaching may also be necessary.
