Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including the month-end close process, preparation of adjusting journal entries, and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

This is a full time, in‑office position.

Essential Functions:

• Manage and process accounts payable functions
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing process
• Maintains and reviews cost center and appropriation accounts to verify accuracy with coding, classification and posting of financial transactions
• Assist with payroll processing as needed
• Provides support for special accounting projects

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

Experience:

• Minimum two years accounting experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply and will be considered.
• SAGE 100 and ADP Workforce experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of budgeting and of cost accounting principles
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
