Job Summary

This employee is responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical tasks required in the daily operations of the Dayton Early College Academy. This position reports to the building principal.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Knowledge of eSchool system.
  • Knowledge of EMIS reporting and procedures.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Receiving and directing visitors.
  • Answering calls and directing them to appropriate staff.
  • Inputting, monitoring, and reporting student data in eSchool, including daily attendance.
  • Maintaining family contact information.
  • Maintaining office referrals.
  • Tracking students entering and leaving the building (e.g., Sinclair, job shadows, internships).
  • Maintaining accurate student phone numbers in DECA’s One Call system.
  • Preparing memos and other forms of correspondence, such as newsletters.
  • Compiling data under supervision.
  • Maintaining off‑campus lunch eligibility.
  • Requisition ing and inventorying office supplies.
  • Performing work requiring decisions and notifying key personnel.
  • Filing correspondence and records.
  • Operating and maintaining office equipment.
  • Providing EMIS assistance to the EMIS coordinator as needed.
  • Monitoring leave requests in the employee kiosk.
  • Coordinating teacher coverage (i.e., substitute teachers).
  • Coordinating suspension appeal and expulsion hearings.
  • Periodically transporting students in compliance with traffic ordinances and school transportation policy.
  • Performing other duties as required.
Working Environment
  • School, activity center, outdoor play areas.
  • Retreat/field sites.
  • Other environments as deemed necessary or appropriate.
Terms of Employment
  • 260 days.
  • Salary to be determined based on experience and education level.
  • All staff members are issued one‑year contracts.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and/or hear.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and depth perception.
Additional Working Conditions
  • Noise level ranges from quiet to loud depending on activity and location.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue; occasional operation of a motor vehicle to transport students.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
