Description:
Administer programs and services with a focus on career awareness and workforce development
The Career Outreach Program Specialist serves as an ambassador for the manufacturing industry by promoting career awareness and workforce opportunities to students, parents, educators, and community partners. This position is responsible for planning and conducting school outreach activities, coordinating volunteers, and fostering positive relationships with educational institutions to inspire the next generation of manufacturing professionals. The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, enthusiastic about workforce development, and comfortable speaking with students in various settings.
Responsibilities- Administer programs and services related to career awareness and workforce development initiatives
- Work with schools across the greater region to coordinate activities for student tours and school presentations
- Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers to attend career outreach presentations, student tours, career fairs, and workforce development events
- Compose and deliver relevant and accurate written communications, including emails and updates to members
- Communicate effectively with clarity and diplomacy with people at all levels (volunteers, students, educators, coworkers)
- Support activities of related committees including preparing and sending meeting agendas, minutes
- Follow established procedures related to the office and program and services
- Perform administrative and clerical duties related to the above responsibilities; assist with answering office phone, handle routine calls, greet visitors; understand Association workforce services, field questions, and provide information
- Enter and retrieve member information into/from Salesforce database
- Maintain and create reports of activities, business transactions, and expenses
- Other duties as assigned
- Exceptionally strong organizational and planning skills: demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize work, balance multiple responsibilities, track details, and meet deadlines; process and detail oriented
- Able to multi‑task and deal with interruptions; able to excel in a fast‑paced environment
- Results driven and highly accountable; self‑directed and motivated, requiring minimal supervision; able to work independently and as part of a team; willing to do what it takes to get the job done
- Strong interpersonal and salesmanship skills; ability to work effectively with volunteers
- Strong oral and written communications skills including grammar and punctuation; able to write clearly and persuasively
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from members
- Able to read, analyze, interpret, and organize information in a logical manner
- Able to write and follow procedures
- Able to calculate figures and amounts
- Able to interpret instructions furnished in a variety of forms
- High energy; ability to work at a fast pace
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point and Salesforce
- Strong business acumen and professional image
- High school diploma required
