Position: Nutrition Services Coordinator
Reports to: Director, Nutrition Services
Salary Schedule / Grade: Refer to Administrator Salary Schedule
F.L.S.A Status: Exempt

SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Director of Nutrition Services, the Nutrition Services Coordinator provides strategic district-wide leadership and operational oversight of multiple school nutrition programs. This role ensures consistent, high-quality operations across assigned schools while maintaining full compliance with district, local, state, and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides district-wide oversight of multiple school nutrition programs, ensuring operational consistency and compliance.
  • Supervises and evaluates site managers across assigned schools, holding them accountable for performance, financial outcomes, and program quality.
  • Conducts comprehensive site reviews, including:
    • Financial performance (labor, food cost, revenue)
    • Compliance with CRRS and all federal/state regulations
    • Food safety, sanitation, and equipment usage
    • Inventory management, forecasting, and production records
  • Leads menu planning, development, and evaluation, ensuring USDA compliance and increasing student participation.
  • Identifies systemic operational issues and implements corrective actions and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Provides coaching, training, and professional development for managers with a focus on leadership growth and consistency across sites.
  • Collaborates with principals and district leadership to align nutrition services with school goals.
  • Monitors and ensures accuracy of reimbursement claims, special program compliance, required reporting, and documentation.
  • Analyzes district and site-level data to drive decision-making and improve efficiency.
  • Assists in procurement processes, including bid specifications and product evaluations.
  • Oversees equipment usage, maintenance planning, and operational readiness.
  • Ensures adherence to Board policies, administrative guidelines, and applicable labor practices.
  • Prepares reports and provides recommendations to the Director.
  • Attends required meetings and trainings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must pass federal and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation background check pursuant to Ohio Administrative Code Section .
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, or a related field with 1–2 years of school food service supervisory experience in a role with full management authority; OR
  • Associate’s degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, or a related field and/or a minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in food service management, preferably in school nutrition program management, including:
