Key Responsibilities

The Construction Project Manager I supports the full project life cycle for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure construction projects, with opportunities to grow into independent project management responsibilities. Working under the direction of a Project Manager II or senior leader, this role assists in planning, coordination, and execution to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support HEAPY’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values in all activities and interactions.
  • Participate in project planning, including cost estimation, scheduling, resource planning, and defining project scopes.
  • Travel regularly to job sites to oversee subcontractors and ensure construction is progressing safely and according to design specifications.
  • Act as an on-site liaison between subcontractors, clients, vendors, and the HEAPY project team, ensuring clear communication and adherence to project requirements.
  • Verify that safety procedures and company policies are followed on all active job sites.
  • Assist with the review of contracts, drawings, and submittals for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support project documentation, progress tracking, and reporting, including updates for billing and cost control.
  • Help coordinate and attend progress meetings with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in client outreach and communication, helping to maintain strong relationships and a Superior Client Experience.
  • Collaborate with senior project managers, operations managers, and practice leaders to ensure timely project execution and team alignment.
  • Engage in ongoing technical and professional development, aligned with OKR goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Normally requires a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with 0–3 years of experience in construction project management, engineering, or related internship/co‑op experience.

  • OSHA Safety Training/Certification (OSHA 30-Hour Construction) required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Basic understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and construction sequencing.
  • Interest in pursuing professional registration or certifications (such as PMP, EIT, or PE) is encouraged.
