Assistant Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager to ensure proper timelines and all requirements are met for all projects.
• Help with billing, change orders, collections, etc. to ensure timely completion.
• Keep the management staff up to date on all project issues.
• Review job cost, job status, manpower and change order reports to provide analysis on a monthly basis with the project manager/project management team.
• Attend regular/monthly job cost reviews to accurately reflect project profitability and status of all project issues.
• Communicate and troubleshoot with project manager, project superintendents, construction managers and General Contractors.
• Communicate effectively with all project managers, administrative assistants and other departments through meetings, memos, e-mails, etc.
• Assist with coordination of proper manpower and equipment for each job.
• Conduct/attend weekly job‑site visits and job meetings.
• Assist with proper job setup and contract review to ensure that estimated costs and schedule of values are done in a timely and accurate manner.
• Generate project manager reports and attend project management meetings as appropriate.
• Track submittals, generate purchase orders and negotiate subcontracts and purchases for each project.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 5 years mechanical industry experience and/or related educational background.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of general plumbing and piping installation.
• Good math ability and general accounting skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Able to walk job sites.
• Capable of climbing on/off equipment and ladders.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (high school or better).

• 5 years mechanical industry experience.

• Valid driver's license.
