- Ensure patients are well informed and comfortable before, during, and after appointments.
- Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and intra‑oral photos.
- Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms and equipment.
- Provide chair‑side assistance to providers during treatment procedures.
- Document orthodontic care services by charting in patient records.
- Assist the orthodontist in assessing teeth and implementing treatment plans.
- Perform routine orthodontic duties, including cleaning and adjusting orthodontic gear.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, patient‑centric environment.
- Must be able to travel between Dayton and West Chester locations.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, Employee Handbook).
- Six or more months of practical experience as an orthodontic assistant.
- CPR or BCLS certification.
- Completion of a CODA‑accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
- Quick learner with problem‑solving skills.
- Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Technical and troubleshooting skills for software applications used for charting, patient records, scheduling, etc.
- Proficiency in fitting bands and brackets, tying arch wires, and taking accurate impressions.
- Desire to learn new skills and be a team player.
- Commitment to punctuality and reliability.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire for professional growth.
- Organized and knowledgeable in dentistry and dental terminology.
- Must be able to travel between Dayton and West Chester locations.
