About the PositionOhio Dental Outreach, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist in Dayton, OH and surrounding areas to provide dental care to underserved children in their schools.
Our innovative in‑school dental program offers a unique working environment: a workday that ends with the school day, with no nights or weekends, making it ideal for working parents and anyone who wants to make a difference in the dental field.
Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) Qualifications- Must hold an active RDH license.
- 1+ years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and willingness to travel to schools across counties.
- Works well with children and adults.
- Current CPR (BLS) certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Assist with oral health management of all patients; be a team player at all times.
- Verify patient identity using name and date of birth before administering treatment and sign the chart to indicate verification was made.
- Obtain an oral health assessment of each patient (new-baseline; follow‑up).
- Review medical history and other pertinent oral health information.
- Provide oral hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling, sealant, and fluoride application consistent with accepted best practices and standards.
- Assist the dentist as directed.
- Provide oral health education and counseling to each patient based on best practices.
- Document all services in the patient chart.
- Travel daily to and from school sites.
- Evenings, weekends and summers off.
- School‑day schedule (approximately 6–7 hours; 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.).
