About the Position
Join our team as a Locum Physician specializing in Pediatric Anesthesiology in Dayton, OH, and make a meaningful impact during a critical staffing period. This is an excellent opportunity to provide exceptional patient care within a leading hospital environment while enjoying competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
In this role, you'll cover a vital hospital-based anesthesia department from March 6, 2026, through November 16, 2026, supporting the medical team during a maternity leave. You'll work in a busy environment with an average of 50-60 surgical cases daily, spanning neonatal to adult patients, in a Level I Trauma Center equipped with 14 operating rooms. Your responsibilities include supervising Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) within a collaborative care team, practicing in a hospital setting, and managing anesthesia in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Required Skills:
Valid medical license and DEA certification in Ohio
Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology
Proven experience managing pediatric and adult anesthesia cases
Strong supervisory skills for overseeing CRNAs
Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to adapt to a high-volume surgical setting
Nice to Have
Skills:
Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center
Familiarity with hospital-based anesthesia procedures
Prior experience supervising anesthesia staff
Knowledge of pediatric anesthesia protocols
Bilingual abilities or additional language skills
Preferred
Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Current Ohio medical license
Minimum of 2 years of anesthesia practice, preferably in a hospital or trauma setting
Experience supervising CRNAs is desired
Other Requirements:
Internal credentialing confirmation (if applicable)
Background check including fingerprinting post-acceptance
Travel reimbursement and arrangements per facility policy
Travel and lodging expenses covered (if traveling from outside the area)
Compliance with all licensing, certification, and hospital credentialing requirements
