The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking Summer Food Service (Seasonal Employee) for the  school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre‑K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state‑of‑the‑art buildings in west‑central Ohio. Our academic and extracurricular aim is to ensure social and emotional learning growth for students with a wealth of opportunity, including a 1:1 initiative and the You Media Center, which is a digital learning lab offering students activities such as 3‑D printing, graphic design, and videography. • Prepare food items in accordance with established guidelines
• Assist with daily lunch set‑up and preparation
• Serve meals in a courteous and efficient manner
• Support post‑lunch clean‑up and tear‑down activities
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and serving spaces
• Travel between multiple sites as needed to support operations
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Rate of pay is $16.00 per hour.

Hours vary from 20 to 40 hours per week as assigned.

Work to be performed from June 1, 2026 through July 31, 2026.

These positions involve active, hands‑on work performed during the summer months. Appropriate work attire is required, and participation in required safety training is mandatory to ensure a safe and productive environment for all. Regular daily attendance throughout the work period is expected, and employees are encouraged to plan time off outside of scheduled work commitments whenever possible. Summer seasonal employees are expected to complete assigned projects and meet established deadlines.

Applicants will be selected and assigned duties by the administration based on district needs. Selection for summer seasonal employment requires submission of an application and participation in an interview.
