Creates, plans, implements and evaluates instruction within the Health Science curriculum designed to address a wide range of maturity and skill levels. Courses currently consist of Principles of Allied Health, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Patient Centered Care and Medical Terminology. Assists secondary high school students with work-based learning opportunities as well as with post-secondary placement. Encourages parental, business and community involvement.
Must be able to work closely, positively with program co-teacher.
Preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
* Possess, or ability to obtain, a valid Ohio teaching license in Health Science Pathway (Career Technical Licensure).
* Registered Nurse
* NATCEP (Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program) Train-the-Trainer or eligible to be Certified
* 5 years minimum recent experience in nursing, at least 1 of which must be in the provision of long-term care facility services
* Ability to successfully teach courses in the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce career field specifically within the Health Science pathway.
* Must be certified within one year of employment:
American Heart Association CPR Instructor and American Heart Association First Aid Instructor
* Knowledge and/or certifications should include but not limited to: OSHA, CPR, Stop the Bleed, HIPPA, EKG, Phlebotomy, etc.
* Possess, or ability to obtain, van and/or bus driver certification.
* Career Tech Student Organization advisor.
* A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
* Complies with drug-free workplace rules and policies.
* Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
* Willingness to work/assist with an advisory group.
* Willingness to be involved in the school improvement process.
* Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations/trends that support job functions.
