What You'll Do:
* Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and IEP goals.
* Assist with student identification, evaluations, parent conferences, IEP development, and periodic reviews.
* Provide direct instruction in Braille, readiness skills, daily living skills, concept development, and other specialized skills for visually impaired students.
* Select and implement appropriate reading media (Braille, large print, digital formats).
* Align teaching strategies with individual learning styles and use evidence-based instructional techniques.
* Track student progress using formative and summative assessments; provide timely feedback.
* Develop and implement activities that support sensory processing and functional independence.
* Communicate IEP and SDI objectives clearly to families and staff.
* Participate in team meetings to plan services relevant to student needs.
* Use positive behavioral interventions to support communication, self-regulation, socialization, and independence.
What You'll Bring:
* Required Ohio State Board of Education teaching credentials.
* Knowledge and experience in instruction for students with visual impairments, including Braille and adaptive strategies.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to high-performance standards, professional ethics, and student advocacy.
* Satisfactory fingerprinting and criminal records check results (provided for free by MCESC!).
