Job Summary /Basic Function:

Wright State University is seeking an Assistant Director of Recruitment and High School Relationships to join the Admissions team and work closely with leadership within the office and the Division of Enrollment Management to design, implement, and manage effective undergraduate recruitment strategies and advance and expand Wright State's relationships with and support of high school counselors. Reporting to the associate director of admissions, this role is ideal for a higher education professional who is committed to advancing Wright State University's mission and vision through the creation and execution of data-driven strategies and industry-leading best practices and the cultivation of strong relationships with secondary school counselors and college access advisors, expanding and supporting the work of Wright State's K-12 partners.

The Assistant Director plays a key role in shaping the university's outreach and recruitment efforts, with a particular emphasis on first-time student recruitment. The successful candidate will demonstrate creativity, strategic thinking, and initiative in developing innovative recruitment approaches, while collaborating across internal teams to support enrollment goals.

This position is responsible for developing, managing, and strengthening strategic relationships with high schools, college access organizations, and other key partners to expand Wright State's visibility and engagement regionally and throughout the state. Through intentional outreach and partnership development, the Assistant Director will promote Wright State University as a destination of choice for college-bound students and serve as a trusted ambassador to external stakeholders.

The Assistant Director will collaborate across campus with faculty, staff, and academic leadership to strengthen partnerships, increase recruitment pipelines, and ensure a strategic approach to engagement with students and our K-12 partners.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree.

* Minimum of three years of experience in admissions, student services, enrollment management, or a closely related area with demonstrated areas of increasing responsibility.

* Demonstrated success in building and maintaining partnerships with high schools, community organizations, or educational partners.

* Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.

* Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.

* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

* Proficiency with CRM systems, student information systems, and data analysis tools.

* Willingness to travel and work evening and weekend hours as necessary.

* Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

* Evidence of creativity, initiative, and adaptability in developing an innovative recruitment and outreach plan.

* Three years of experience in admissions with demonstrated areas of increasing responsibility.

* Understanding of regional and national enrollment trends and best practices in university admissions.

* Experience utilizing Technolutions Slate and Power

Essential Functions and percent of time:

Strategic Recruitment (40%)

* Manage an assigned recruitment territory using data-informed, territory management strategies to meet enrollment goals. Responsibilities include planning and conducting 6-8 weeks of domestic recruitment travel, including some evening and weekend events, and representing the University at high schools, community colleges, career and technical centers, college fairs, and community-based organizations.

* Track, analyze, and interpret territory-specific market data, enrollment trends, and CRM reports to assess effectiveness, adjust recruitment strategies, and inform decision-making.

* Serve as a liaison between the Office of Admissions and key academic and administrative units to share program updates, scholarship information, and admission policy changes.

* Participate in the development, implementation, and assessment of the annual recruitment plan.

High School Counselor Relationships (40%)

* Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach and engagement plan focused on building long-term relationships with high school counselors, teachers, community-based organizations, and other educational partners.

* Collaborate with the Senior Director of Admissions and campus stakeholders to identify new recruitment opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships that align with university enrollment objectives.
