Sinclair Biology Department
The Sinclair Biology Department is seeking an Annually Contracted Faculty member to join Sinclair’s STEM Division beginning Fall 2026. This program offers comprehensive training in biology, combining courses from anatomy to genetics with practical learning in multiple specialized laboratory settings.
Annually Contracted Faculty (ACF) appointments are full-time, temporary positions limited to one academic year. Appointments are not automatically awarded for subsequent years, but are awarded on a year‑by‑year basis at the sole discretion of Sinclair Community College.
All full-time faculty salaries are determined by the Provost’s Office and are commensurate with education and experience.
This position is open only to applicants who reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform work within one of these states. Sinclair Community College restricts employment to approved states due to employment, tax, and benefits compliance requirements.

- Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies

- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Teach a minimum of 15 payload hours per semester for both fall and spring semesters
- Work closely with the department chair to implement the policies of the department and college
- Participate in department, division and college-wide meetings
- Maintain office hours and respond to student inquiries in a timely and effective manner
- Committee service is not required
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of a master’s degree in biology or related field required
- Required teaching experience in anatomy and physiology strongly preferred; candidates with teaching experience in biology will also be considered
- Experience with up-to-date pedagogical teaching techniques required
- Flexibility to teach daytime, evening or weekend classes on Dayton campus as well as off campus sites required
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience, and ability to teach classroom and online courses required
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a community college environment
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
