The on-site Behavioral Support Coach (TOSA) provides direct, embedded support to staff and students with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder, and low-incidence disabilities. This position is not office-based, it is hands-on, in classrooms, and in buildings, working side-by-side with educators to strengthen instructional practices, behavior supports, and inclusive systems.
Responsibilities- Provide on-site coaching and professional development for staff with students who have Autism, low-incidence disabilities, and other challenges.
- Assist with behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and functional behavior assessments (FBAs).
- Support proactive behavior strategies and de-escalation practices.
- Collaborate with teams during times of increased student need or transition.
- Model effective behavioral, and instructional strategies in real time.
- Coach teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff in inclusive practices.
- Provide feedback that is practical, respectful, and immediately usable.
- Work closely with special education teams, administrators, counselors, and related service providers.
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed to support programming and implementation.
- Help identify trends and needs across buildings to strengthen district practices.
- Maintain clear documentation and communication with district leadership.
