Career Exploration/PLTW Instructor (assigned to middle school)

General Description:

The Career Exploration/PLTW Instructor will be assigned to Bethel Local Schools to provide instructional activities which are consistent with the objectives of the PLTW Gateway to Technology program, career technical programs offered at the high school, and the MVCTC in general. The instructor will direct the learning experiences of the students, including basic agriculture, construction, healthcare, HVAC, interactive multi-media, welding, etc.,

along with enhancing career awareness, critical-thinking and leadership qualities which are necessary as they progress in their academic program. The Career Exploration Instructor will report to the Satellite Supervisor.

Qualifications:

* The successful candidate must meet all the requirements governing teacher education and licensure in an area licensed to teach the course, attend the Summer 2026 PLTW training after accepting an offer of employment from the District and attend other required PLTW trainings in future summers. There are multiple valid licenses to teach the course including, but not limited to: 7-12 Math, 7-12 Science, Agriscience, Construction Trades, Electrical Trades, Engineering Technology, and Technology Education.

* Must possess or obtain the middle school career technical validation

* Must possess interest in young people

* Possess good knowledge of or willing to learn about basic agriculture, construction, healthcare, HVAC, interactive multi-media, and welding, and of the content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of the instructional specialty to which assigned

* Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned

* Must have the ability to integrate instructional technology

* Ability to move about in classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior

* Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents

* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

* Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for students
