$48,006 – $97,932 annually (Based on the 2025–2026 Dayton Education Association Salary Schedule; placement determined by education and experience, subject to board approval)
DefinitionThe Licensed Junior High / High School Teacher, under the general supervision of the Building Principal, is responsible for planning, delivering, assessing, and evaluating instruction aligned with district goals and Oregon Academic Standards. A central responsibility of this role is the explicit teaching, assessment, and continuous improvement of literacy skills—reading, writing, speaking, listening, and academic language—within and across content areas to support student engagement, achievement, graduation readiness, and post-secondary success.
Qualifications- Valid Oregon Teaching License issued by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC), with appropriate endorsements for the assignment
- Knowledge of secondary curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
Ability to meet the academic, social, emotional, and literacy needs of adolescent learners
