- 5 years' work experience in field of expertise OR Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in field of expertise plus 3 years' work experience in the field of expertise.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Experience with Industrial Electricity and with the fundamental science of electricity and circuitry. Areas of emphasis include electrical theory, electrical properties and measurement, circuitry, and wiring methods.
- Holds or is able to obtain a valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
- Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.
Job Description
Part-time Evening Instructors needed. Applicants can teach just one or several courses in the areas of:
Basic Industrial Electricity, Machine Controls, Motors and Controllers, Electrical Systems & Components, Electrical Troubleshooting, Hydraulic and Pneumatic System and PLC (Program Logic Controls) Rockwell Automation Logix 5000 Software & PLC Programming Siemens for the Advanced Manufacturing Maintenance PLC Specialty and Electrical for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Programs. Each class is approximately 4-5 weeks in length, 2 nights a week.
The instructor will provide instructional activities which are consistent with the program objectives and academic standards adopted and established by the Upper Valley Career Center and the State of Ohio. The instructor will direct the learning experiences of the students, including skill development, human relations, and leadership qualities which are necessary to obtain gainful employment. The instructor will perform in such a manner to ensure the best education possible for the students of the Upper Valley Career Center.
