Job Summary: The Dayton Regional STEM School seeks an innovative and creative Intervention Specialist elementary level teacher for . The role maximizes learning for students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and daily living. Responsibilities include implementing district‑approved curriculum, documenting progress, addressing student needs, and creating a safe learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree by start date
  • Teaching license or alternative license secured by start date
  • Outstanding communication and collaborative skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience as a K‑3 grade teacher
  • Experience with project‑based learning instructional strategies
Essential Functions and Time Allocation 75% Creating and Implementing IEPs
  • Evaluate students to identify strengths and needs.
  • Develop and implement IEPs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to support student success.
  • Monitor and report progress regularly.
  • Coordinate with external agencies when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Use data to guide and refine interventions.
25% Participating in Meetings, Collaboration, and Professional Development
  • Maintain contact and communication with parents and students, supporting their development.
  • Utilize instructional resources and technologies and contribute to school improvement.
  • Engage in reflection on teaching practices and adapt methods as needed.
  • Participate in leadership activities and be a team player.
  • Participate in curriculum development during employment.
Working Conditions

Contract length is one year, contingent upon funding. Candidates may be subject to a criminal background check as per university policy.
