Title:

Kindergarten through 4th grade Learning Support Specialist

The Miami Valley School (MVS) in Dayton, Ohio offers a unique learning opportunity focused on transformative, immersive education for young learners.

The Role

MVS is seeking a dynamic, innovative K‑4 Learning Support Specialist committed to inclusivity in all they do. The ideal candidate is passionate and skillful as an intervention specialist, eager to implement the MVS specific Learning Support program in collaboration with the learning support specialists supporting other grade levels. This position provides kindergarten to 4th grade learning support program oversight and instruction, including day‑to‑day management of student academic learning support.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review/maintain student records/files, analyze psycho‑educational reports, and provide recommendations based on these reports.
  • Provide academic support for students, including those with a Reading Intervention Monitoring Plan.
  • Support grade level homeroom teachers in administering, scoring, and analyzing reading and math assessments.
  • Review admissions applications in collaboration with the appropriate division director and Learning Support Team leader to anticipate the needs of future students.
