The Division of Business and Public Services at Sinclair is seeking an Annually Contracted Faculty member to join the Criminal Justice Science Department, beginning Fall 2026. This position will involve teaching face-to-face classes during the day as part of the Prison Education Program. The faculty member will travel to various correctional facilities across Ohio, including Dayton, Lebanon, Columbus, Chillicothe, and more.
Mileage for travel will be reimbursed in accordance with College policies.
Annually Contracted Faculty (ACF) appointments are full-time, temporary positions limited to one academic year. Appointments are not automatically awarded for subsequent years, but rather, are awarded on a year-by-year basis at the sole discretion of Sinclair Community College.
All full-time faculty salaries are determined by the Provost's Office and are commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities
* Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
* Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
* Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
* Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs
* Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
* Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
* Maintain accurate records of student progress
* Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
* Maintain confidentiality of student information
* Teach a minimum of 15 payload hours per semester for both fall and spring semesters
* This is equivalent to a 40 hour work week
* Work closely with the department chair to implement the policies of the department and college

* Participate in department, division and college-wide meetings
* Maintain office hours and respond to student inquiries in a timely and effective manner
* Committee service is not required
* Other duties as assigned
Requirements
* Minimum of a master's degree in criminal justice or related field required.
* Minimum of three years of experience required
* Proficiency in teaching, including working with students with diverse learning styles required
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work well with a diverse student population
* Commitment to the principles of a learning college required
* Successful teaching experience at the college level preferred
* Successful professional experience in criminal justice preferred
* Must be able to teach face-to-face in a prison education setting
* Ability to pass a DRC background check required
