Position SummaryThe Sinclair Communication Department is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member and department chairperson to join its Liberal Arts, Communication, and Social Sciences Division beginning Fall 2026. This program provides a comprehensive study of communication and exposes students to the basics as well as to advanced techniques, tools, and philosophies that will equip them with the necessary skills they need to transmit information more effectively in various environments.
This tenure track role typically requires at least a 40-hour work week which includes a course load of 15 credit hours per semester, and a minimum of five office hours per week. In addition to these responsibilities, the instructor will be expected to perform related duties such as serving on department and college committees, coordinating courses, serving as an ambassador for the Communication programs, and mentoring adjunct faculty.
Teaching assignments may include day and evening assignments on the Dayton, Centerville, and Mason campuses. Additionally, assignments may include day assignments at area high schools. The position reports to the Dean of Liberal Arts, Communication, and Social Sciences.
All full-time faculty salaries are determined by the Provost’s Office and are commensurate with education and experience.

Implement evaluations according to established standards and use assessment data to continuously improve teaching and learning. - Workplace and Community Service
