Job Summary / Basic Function

The Raj Soin College of Business invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Successful candidates should be committed to growing the programs, excellence in teaching, service to the student and university, professional growth, research, and scholarship. This position will be expected to actively participate in and support accreditation processes and participate in the development of new programs.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in accounting. Candidates should bring a passion for accounting and enthusiasm for teaching our undergraduate and MBA students. They will also perform scholarly research and serve the university and the greater community. Candidates will be responsible for courses in our Accountancy and MBA programs and for adding and managing curriculum in Accounting and the MBA program.

The Raj Soin College of Business is nationally accredited (AACSB) and offers Bachelor’s Degrees in Accountancy, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Financial Services, General Business, Human Resource Management, Management, MIS, Marketing and Supply Chain Management and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration, Information Systems, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Marketing Analytics and Insights, and Social and Applied Economics.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or other terminal degree in the field of Accountancy or closely related field anticipated by the start date (Assistant Professor).
  • Must meet the AACSB classification of Scholarly Academic during the pre‑tenure period.
  • Ph.D. or other terminal degree in the field of Accountancy or closely related field (Associate Professor).
  • Must meet the AACSB classification of Scholarly Academic.
  • Must meet CBA and bylaws minimum requirements with regard to scholarship and teaching for rank of Associate Professor.
  • Minimum of three years prior teaching experience (Associate Professor).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of AI in Accounting discipline.
  • Real‑world expertise in relevant areas of business will be considered. Preference given to faculty with teaching, consulting, defense, or corporate experience in accounting.
Essential Functions and Percent of Time Teaching (40%)
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in support of the mission and goals of Raj Soin College of Business; deliver instruction and maintain a learning environment consistent with the highest standards of the profession; commit to the development and execution of experiential learning.
  • Introduce new teaching techniques, evaluate student progress, and engage and motivate students through interactive techniques, experiential learning and other innovative teaching practices.
  • Maintain a minimum of four regular office hours (maximum thirty minutes per credit hour) per week, spread over at least two days; ensure these office hours meet students’ reasonable needs and provide additional availability in person or virtually.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new program initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes and the overall quality of the business school, including new course development, curriculum development, and assurance of learning.
  • Incorporate business analytics and artificial intelligence into teaching of the Accounting discipline.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, advising and mentoring them as they progress through their studies.
  • Be an innovative and collaborative educator with the capacity to foster student success within the classroom and in mentoring relationships, engaging individuals across a spectrum of backgrounds, ages, experience levels, and career aspirations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of course learning outcomes, curriculum maps, resource guides, textbooks, syllabi templates, and updated course materials; including region‑specific coursework as desired.
